Beyond Retro

On Friday the 30th of May two friends of mine and I planned to go somewhere into Central London to take some photographs and to chill about. So around 1pm I was going to meet Sara at my station, turns out someone happened to have jumped infront of a train so the lines we needed to use had some pretty bad delays. In the end she got here after being about 40 minutes late, which wasn't too bad. We then got going on the Northern line to Kings Cross station, then got the metropolitan line to Liverpool Street station. Hopefully assuming our other friend would be there, turned out that his dad wasn't allowing him to come out, which was a shame but it didn't really matter as we could just re-schedule. That didn't stop Sara and I continuing the day without him.
First we started off with a walk towards the Lomography shop to see if they sold any Polaroid film, since I was running low, but also realised I was running low on money too. The shop had stopped selling the film I needed to we moves along to Rough Trade to take some photobooth pictures;

Afterwards we set off for a random walk along a little road full of shops and bars, we stopped at this wall with a big picture of some woman posing, deciding it was a good place to take a decent picture.  Right round the corner was a shop called Beyond Retro, we went inside and chose a load of random, strange patterned clothes to make some crazy outfits and take pictures of them. Sadly I don't have all the pictures on here, but it was very interesting. Whilst walking along this main road picking up random stickers off some pipes and walls to keep for scrap memories which I will show in my next post we started walking back to where we started since it was just leading to a load of dodgy areas and un-interesting shops. I wanted to take another photobooth picture to put on my wall in my bedroom for all my memories, so we walked back to Rough Trade.

We weren't too sure on what to do next, plus going back home would be boring so we got back on the tube towards St Pauls, which then lead to walking along the Thames for a little bit. After grabbing a quick drink from costa coffee and sitting by the water, it got way too cold so we set off again to sit by the London Eye. This was our last destination then we came back to my house to charge our phones and plan what was going to happen next. At this point it was about 7 in the afternoon, we still wanted to stay out so after a long time trying to think of a place to go we went to pick up some Jagermeister and headed off to Camden Lock to sit by the canal and have a little drink. Another friend of mine then messaged me to see what we were up to, and mentioned how dodgy hanging around the canal can be at night so we decided to leave and go back to the station. It was getting quite late and Sara needed to get home soon, so instead of hanging about in Camden we got on the tube to Bakers Street to get a chicken burrito from Chipotle, which is heaven. Once we got there the chicken would've taken around 10 minutes to cook so we got pork instead... which wasn't as good, but it was good enough.
After that was finished we both head off home in opposite directions.
I gotta say it was a pretty successful day for me, as usually when I make plans with people I just get cancelled on. So I'm very happy! :)
